Both clubs offer a ready platform for some pretty unsavoury and extreme politics (not to mention racism/sectarianism) from the North of Ireland, and the good folk of Englandshire would be mad to give them a bigger stage on which to desport themselves.
Most of us have been sick of it for years, and finally El Presidente Salmondo and his crew are aiming to stamp it out by bringing in some (admittedly pretty draconian) legislation to allow the mass lifting of anyone indulging themselves.
It is measure of how much they are loathed in Scotland that most of us are prepared to put up with the infringement of civil liberties if it finally puts a stop to them. The squealing and quoting of Voltaire in support of free speach, from people more used to singing songse in praise of kneecappers, is rich with irony.
But I suppose money might talk.
