Associate Director, Operations Management, Program Strategy & Management team ? Access Solutions

Access Solutions Operations Management is and will continue to be a critical part of the Access Solutions business model. The Operations Management team is responsible for instilling and maintaining robust productivity measurements and financial discipline. In addition, this team oversees and coordinates development of long-term planning for technology upgrades and management in support of ensuring best-in-class Access Solutions patient services.
Accordingly, the Associate Director, Access Solutions Operations Management leads and oversees the team and function providing operational excellence planning, metrics, technology improvement prioritization and coordination, and accounting. Access Solutions Operations Management play an instrumental role in helping ensure coordinated and integrated practices across the broad Access Solutions teams and activities.

* Provides outstanding leadership to the overall Access Solutions function and multiple teams by acting as a key contributor to the leadership team and helping guide the annual and longer-range vision, mission, strategies, goals, objectives and resources for Access Solutions overall
* Leads processes and team members to help ensure Access Solutions? goals and objectives are realized
* Self and team participate in 3-year brand and 1-year tactical plans for all GNE products
* Leads identification and implementation of productivity and other key performance metrics across all core Access Solutions strategies, plans and activities
* Leads coordination with other internal and external technology partners in improving services and IT infrastructure surrounding patient reimbursement services
* Contributes expert financial and operational insights into 3-year and 1-year business plans for Access Solutions
* Leads cross-functional operational excellence projects, including business process and other continuous improvements, across Access Solutions
* Represents the strategies, financials and general operations of Access Solutions to others internally and/or externally. Includes providing ongoing decision support to Access Solutions management, other Genentech management and executives, as these matters relate to Access Solutions budget, other resource requirements, productivity, return on
investment, longer-range operations and infrastructure needs, and/or operational excellence strategies, plans and projects
* Substitutes for his/her manager, as needed, and/or otherwise appropriate
* Drives team in regular analysis and reporting on KPIs and other
productivity/performance metrics or business analytics
* Hires, develops and oversees the work of direct and indirect reports
* Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of GNE activities

Who You Are

* Bachelors Degree (engineering, information technology, general business, or related discipline is a plus)
* MBA or other related technical graduate-level degree is preferred
* Average of 8 or more years? relevant work experience preferably gained in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry (e.g., strategic planning, project management, operations management, business finance, etc.)
* Previous success demonstrated in managing teams is strongly preferred
* Must have some working knowledge of strategic planning, process improvement, vendor management, project management and budgeting
* Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN or other best practice OE methodologies is a strong plus
* Knowledge of patient access and healthcare reimbursement programs is a strong plus
* Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals
* Previous experience leading departmental or larger-scale business planning
processes, to include development & implementation of such plans, goals and metrics
* Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings
